FAQs

How do I get started?

At Savaria Dance Studio, new students can take advantage of our Complimentary Introductory Lesson! Simply complete and submit the Info Form by clicking here.  Upon submission we will contact you to discuss your dance goals and schedule your first private lesson.

What types of dance are offered?

We offer instruction for ALL types of dance, as a single or couple.  This varies from waltz, tango, cha-cha, salsa, country western, swing, night club dancing, and more.  We can also assist with wedding dances.  For those with a competitive edge, we can help you become a skilled Pro/Am competitor with your Instructor at National and International dance competitions!

How qualified are your dance instructors?

Savaria’s dance instructors are professional dancers.  They are award winning national and world finalists.  This includes finalists of the Blackpool Dance Festival, the world's most prestigious dance competition. The instuctors are also national and international licensed ballroom adjudicators. Savaria’s instructors are dedicated to helping you discover the joy of ballroom dancing and making your learning experience enjoyable, educational, rewarding... and FUN!

Do I need a partner?

Absolutely not! We welcome singles and couples at Savaria Dance Studio. If you come as a single student, your instructor will be your partner for private lesson.  We also offer group classes that provides plenty of opportunity to meet and dance with other students with the same interests and goals!

How often should I take lessons?

We highly recommend scheduling a weekly lesson, especially in the beginning. The less time in between lessons the better.  This will allow you to become more familiar with your steps and become more confident with your dancing.  Based on the experiences of our students, we strongly encourage private lessons in conjunction with group classes.  It’s the most effective and efficient way for you to learn and enjoy the company of other students.

How should I dress for my lesson?

The most important thing is to wear something comfortable, which allows you to move easily. Of course, you’ll also want to select comfortable shoes. We suggest leather-sole shoes for gentlemen, and a shoe with a back for ladies (similar to what you might wear to go out dancing).
